Reassuring
No matter the age of your children, these three words have gone through their minds at one point during and after the divorce. To some degree children blame themselves, feel guilty and think it is their fault. You as the parents must reassure them:
-They are not to blame for the divorce.
-The decision to divorce is your problem, not theirs.
-Mom and Dad are responsible and in charge of the family.
-They are your children.
-They are most important.
-They are loved.
-They will be listened to.
-They will be included in decisions.
-They will be cared for
