About Us

At first I wrote this guide for others, but the more I researched, reflected and wrote I found it helped me accept, heal ignored wounds and forgive myself. When a person goes through a divorce it is difficult to imagine things will ever be better or have normalness again.

Watching dear friends and family members go through a divorce, I understand their frustration, pain and anger. Divorce is rather like a death and loss; people are there for pre-funeral arrangements, being supported, supply endless casseroles, and sympathy. During the funeral itself they are there to hold your hand, listen and again supply casseroles. However, after the service they fade away, moving on to the next tragedy in a friend or love one's life, forgetting you are still grieving.

My hope is for this guide to be used as comfortable friend to turn to. Not to lecture, judge or tell you how badly you handle a situation. Just a little book to give support, ideas and suggestions on how you as a divorced parent can help your kids as well as yourself cope before, during and after the divorce.

I can promise you this. Things will get easier and you will laugh again.
